Library & Museum
Where history lives, heroes are honored, and community is built — one artifact, one story, one generation at a time.
Our Mission
The Chicagoland Veterans Campus is more than a museum — it is a living, breathing tribute to every American who ever raised their right hand and served. We bring families, students, neighbors, and patriots together to walk among real artifacts, read real letters, and hear real stories from across every era of American military history.
From the Civil War to the Gulf War, from the Army to the Coast Guard — every branch, every conflict, every sacrifice is represented here. Donations of uniforms, weapons, gear, books, photographs, and personal correspondence arrive from across the country and around the world, and each piece goes on full display for the community to see and learn from.
We believe history is not something to be studied in silence behind glass. It is something to be experienced — and we bring it to life.
The Collection
Donations arrive from across the United States and around the world. Every piece tells a story — and every story is on display.
Muskets, canteens, uniforms, and personal letters from soldiers on both sides. Our reenactors bring this era to life with period-authentic gear and live demonstrations on the campus grounds.
Helmets, dog tags, ration kits, medals of valor, and handwritten letters from the front lines of Europe and the Pacific — donated by veterans and their families from around the world.
An extensive display of period-correct firearms, bayonets, swords, and field equipment spanning two centuries of American military arms — safely and professionally displayed for all visitors.
Ship models, navigation instruments, sailor uniforms, and naval history spanning the U.S. Navy from the Age of Sail through the modern fleet — every branch of the sea services represented.
Original letters, battle orders, discharge papers, and military records — handwritten voices from history, donated from around the world, preserved here for future generations to read and feel.
Thousands of volumes on military history, strategy, biography, and reference — open to researchers, students, and history enthusiasts of every age. One of the most comprehensive in the region.
Boots, packs, mess kits, gas masks, compasses, and complete field loadouts from multiple wars — the everyday tools that soldiers carried into the most extraordinary moments of history.
Artifacts donated from collectors, families, and veterans organizations across the globe — allied forces, international campaigns, and the global reach of American military history on full display.
We don't just display the Civil War — we live it. Our reenactors put on authentic period uniforms, carry period arms, and step back in time so that every visitor can feel what history truly felt like standing on that ground.

Building Bridges
Veterans don't heal in isolation — they heal in community. The Chicagoland Veterans Campus is a gathering place where service members and civilians stand shoulder to shoulder, share stories, and build something lasting together.
We host youth programs through Young Marines and Young Army, connecting the next generation with the values of service, discipline, and patriotism. Our doors are open to schools, scout troops, community organizations, and history lovers of every age and background.
While our permanent museum galleries are being organized and expanded, we are already hosting events on campus. Join our mailing list to be the first to know about every gathering, demonstration, and celebration we host.
What We Host
Major Lorenzo Fiorentino served the United States Army with distinction for 22 years before channeling a lifetime of dedication into something the Chicagoland community would carry for generations. He founded the Chicagoland Veterans Campus to be a permanent home for military history, a sanctuary for veterans, and an open door for every citizen who wants to understand the sacrifice behind their freedom.
An avid history buff himself, Major Fiorentino has spent years curating the campus collection — personally receiving donations from veterans, families, and collectors around the world, and ensuring that every item is displayed with the dignity and context it deserves. His passion for education, community, and the next generation of patriots drives every event, every program, and every artifact on these grounds.
